Andrea Bunde, after a successful 25- year career in Human Resources Management in Corporate America, decided to change focus and pursue an artistic career. In 2017 she joined the newly formed Little Harbor Studios and Gallery in Marblehead along with eight other artists. Since moving to Marblehead 10 years ago Andrea has enjoyed painting the local scenery. Her favorite time of year is the spring with the blooming flowers and harbor landscapes, and Andrea’s watercolors are full of spring pink tones in the gardens as they flow over the sea walls or line steep, crooked streets. People have described Andrea’s art as being "happy" and often "pink" color themed. She finds it inspiring to see beauty in nature and be in the "here and now" while painting. “It's nice to do something that you love and that speaks to you and where you can be yourself.” Andrea also creates art inspired by her travels finding exquisite landscapes abroad. She has enjoyed painting scenes from trips to England of cottage gardens and flowering window boxes, cherry blossoms in Kyoto, Japan to colorful reef fish in the Caribbean. However, she continues to be drawn to Marblehead with its seaside and scenic brilliance. Andrea is on the Board of Swampscott Arts Association and is a member of the Marblehead Arts Association. Each year Andrea prints a calendar of recent paintings. She sells these calendars as well as greeting cards and bookmarks of her art.
