Theresa is from Long Island where her interest in art began early in life. She won her
first ribbon in junior high school for her Mountain Mist painting. Her rendition of
Fragonard’s “The Swing” in high school captured attention and she was later voted most
artistic in her senior year. She attended life drawing class at Post University and
explored watercolor classes after moving to Massachusetts in 1987. Living on the North
Shore has been an inspiration and her work often depicts landscapes, gardens and the
beauty of nature. After a successful teaching career, her passion for expression has
been reignited. Her recent acrylic paintings are influenced by Monet and other
impressionists.
Theresa has been a Swampscott resident for 32 years and was a juried member of the
Marblehead Arts Association. She has exhibited at The Front St. Coffeehouse in
Salem, Staples, The Senior Center and The Coastal Collective Gallery in Swampscott,
The Eat Well Kitchen in Marblehead and the Lynn YMCA. Also a member of Reach
Arts, she participated in the Garden Art Walk in 2022 and 2024. Her work is available
on her Facebook Marketplace page, Theresa Curtis’ Art as well as her Etsy shop at
