Marc is a photographer and astrophotographer. He has been a member of The Swampscott Art Association for several years. Marc was born and raised in Medford Massachusetts, a true Bostonian.
Marc’s interest in photography is broad in scope. He has a keen interest in astrophotography. And that interest is further focused in his photography of Total Solar Eclipses. Marc has travelled widely to see, experience, and photography this unique and rare phenomenon. In addition to his photographs of solar eclipses and other astronomical targets, Marc enjoys photographs of sunsets, the ocean, and nature in general. He has experimented with both color and black and white photography. His portfolio of astronomical subjects has been exhibited repeatedly at Kennedy Studios in Swampscott, Massachusetts. His works have also been exhibited at other galleries in the Boston area and on Cape Cod. He has lectured at Gaga Gallery in Swampscott, Massachusetts, and at other educational venues on his travels to photograph Total Solar Eclipses.
In addition to his work in photography, Marc is a pianist, singer and songwriter. He has written, produced, and recorded seven albums of his own music. That music is available through many on-line venues including ITunes, and Amazon. Marc performs his original music, as well as songs of the Great American Song book, jazz standards, and other tunes, at cafes, weddings, conferences, restaurants, fund raising events, and other venues in the Boston area. Marc is largely a self-taught musician, but he also studied at Berklee College of Music. His musical influences range from Chet Baker, Errol Garner, Dina Washington and other jazz greats to The Beatles, Motown, and other singer songwriters such as Carole King and James Taylor.
Marc studied at Boston University as an undergraduate. He holds a B.A in Sociology from Whitman College in Walla Walla, Washington. He graduated from the University of Massachusetts with an M.Ed in Counseling. He spent 35 years of his career as a Social Worker for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, with the Department of Developmental Services. Marc is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and works currently for a private agency north of Boston.
